I’d like to thank everyone who took part in the annual cleaning of
the kitchen, lounge, working Sacristy and the cleaning of the altar
brass. Our Grace Women are an amazing group of willing volunteers.
“Come
to the Waters” for a One-Day Retreat
Saturday, July 12th
Our
Circles have traditionally gathered every month over the summer for
summer Bible study. Because of vacations, work and travel plans,
it’s hard for some to get to these studies. The Board has proposed a
one-day retreat for a summer Bible study. This summer’s study is
“Come to the Waters,” by the Rev. Karen Bockelman.
Rev.
Bockelman is the assistant to the bishop in the Northeastern
Minnesota Synod of the ELCA. Her Bible study will guide us through
the rich images and meanings of baptism and how the sacrament shapes
our lives and vocations. “Come to the Waters” will look at the
waters of baptism through the lenses of Scripture, Lutheran
tradition, personal experience, and the call to act boldly in and
for justice.

Margaret
Draeger has graciously allowed us to meet in her home. We will do
potluck for lunch and snacks. We will have the joy of sharing
friendship, hospitality, and God’s word together in the beauty of a
summer day – hopefully a dry day!
Bible
Study materials will be available for those who may not have a
subscription to Lutheran Woman Today. There will be
information to come and look for a sign-up sheet on the church
bulletin board sometime the first part of July.
Hope to see you
there!
SALAD SUPPER/BABY SHOWER
On
Tuesday, August 12th at 6:15 p.m. we will once again have our
Salad Supper/Baby Shower for LWR. This is a potluck meal. Please
bring a salad or hotdish for our buffet table. There is always an
abundance of food, so two ladies could go together on one salad or
hotdish. Rolls, desserts, and coffee are provided. You are asked to
bring your own plates and silverware.
Keep in
mind items that you could bring for the Lutheran World Relief ‘Baby
Shower’. Special needs are cloth diapers, sleepers and shirts (size
1 year to 18 months). These items will be made up into baby
layettes. If you would prefer, you could make cash contribution that
evening towards the purchase of these items.
CRAFTERS’ NIGHT
If you are
interested, we hope you will make it a point to come to the
Crafter’s Nights at 6:30 pm on the first and third
Thursdays of each month!

Campbell Soup Labels UPC Codes
Campbell’s has changed the way they are accepting proof of purchase
of their soup labels. They want us to send ONLY the UPC insignia
(bar code) not the labels. Because of this change, there will no
longer be a need to cut the labels to the right size, sort them, and
count them. This will also save us on postage cost.
These labels go to Solheim Lutheran Home in
California
where they are then used for educational expense for the Navajo
Evangelical Lutheran Mission.
Please
continue to save your Campbell Soup Labels and return only the UPC
(bar code) to the church. Thank you.
