Women of Grace

Who Are We?
Return to Women of Grace Page

The Women of Grace are members of one of five Bible Study Circles that meet once a month throughout the year.  They come together in friendship to study and share God’s word.  The Bible study groups meet at convenient times—both day and evening sessions—and women are encouraged to attend the circle which is best for their schedules.  The Women of Grace believe that it is important not only to study God’s word, but also to live it.

Thus, the Women of Grace are also actively involved in many, varied ways to serve the church, community, the nation, and the world.  Worldwide ministry projects sponsored by the Women of Grace for Lutheran World Relief include a monthly quilting session where quilts are sewn and tied for shipment to sites around the world imperiled by war, famine, drought, and sickness.  Various types of kits such as baby layettes, school supplies, and sewing supplies are prepared each year.  Soap is also collected for Lutheran World Relief.

At the national level, the Women of Grace have collected and delivered coats and quilts to the Lakota Sioux on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.  Members also collect Campbell Soup labels that are sent to the Navaho Reservation to purchase vans which are much needed there.

Our prison ministry at the Redgranite Correctional Institution provides reading tutoring and assistance in tape recording stories by prisoners in order to send them to their children.  The Women of Grace also sponsor drives to collect yarn and children’s storybooks for other projects at the prison.

At Grace, the women serve on the altar committee, maintain the church library, participate in a women’s book group, and provide food and service for members’ funerals.

The schedule for the circles’ meetings is as follows:

Joy Circle Second Wednesday of each month 9 a.m.
Patience Circle Second Wednesday of each month 2 p.m.
Hope Circle Second Wednesday of each month 7 p.m.
Faith Circle Second Thursday of each month 7 p.m.

Visitors are always welcomed.
